"Pride and Prejudice" by the IPFW Department of Theatre

Presented by the  IPFW Department of Theatre, this story surrounds Elizabeth Bennet, the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living in Longbourn. Adapted for the stage by Marcus Goodwin, Elizabeth deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of the British Regency in the 19th century. Mr. Darcy, the rich, eligible and status-conscious neighbor, is disdainful of local society and repeatedly clashes with the lively Elizabeth.

Held at the Williams Theatre on the IPFW campus.

Join us for the 3rd Annual North Anthony Corridor Holiday Lighting event. Stop by for some cookies and hot chocolate, a raffle for gift cards to local Corridor businesses, and to see Santa!  We are also asking for canned good donations to a local food bank.

5pm: Event begins - enjoy refreshments, coloring activities for the kids, and visiting with Santa

Better Block Community Walk & Talk

As part of the 2017 AARP Community Challenge, Team Better Block is partnering with the City of Fort Wayne and the Active Living Coalition, along with local residents, stakeholders and volunteers to improve the quality of life for people of all ages along a block of Columbia Avenue in the Northside Neighborhood just north of downtown Fort Wayne. Team Better Block will utilize temporary changes in the built environment to initiate permanent enhancements in the quality of life in our community. 

Your input is needed! Residents, leaders, artists, planners, clergy, teachers, students and businesses are all invited in making a better Fort Wayne.

Children will be able to explore nearly 50 vehicles, which may include limos, fire trucks, tow trucks, and police cars. The event is in conjunction with the national Month of the Young Child.

It's time to spruce things up for outdoor eating, drinking, shopping, and just plain celebrating!  We're looking for volunteers to help with some spring cleaning along the Corridor, and when you're done, enjoy food and drink from our restaurants and on-site local food trucks.  There will also be live bands playing at Record Store Day at Wooden Nickel for your musical enjoyment.  

Most importantly, we'll be doing a video shoot at the former Rogers/Scott's grocery store property (3109 N. Anthony Blvd.) to help promote the site to prospective grocery store chains.  WE NEED A HUGE CROWD OF PEOPLE TO SHOW HOW MUCH OUR AREA WANTS A GROCERY STORE!   

The agenda for the day is:

  • 8am - 9pm (tentative hours): Record Store Day at Wooden Nickel
  • 11am to 1pm - corridor clean up/eat & drink
  • 1pm to 2pm - video shoot at Rogers/Scott's site (3109 N. Anthony Blvd.)
